A proper paradise for cross-country-skiing enthusiasts! The Kasern parcours
is one of the most impressive in the whole region and snow is guaranteed
from December to April. Kasern is situated at the very end of the valley,
free of cars and in the midst of the Rieserferner Ahrn nature park.
There are lots of mountain huts, alpine pastures and refuges to rest and
have a hot drink.
The course starts right behind the mountain hotels Kasern and Tauernrast,
and you can hire the ski gear, toboggans, ice skating boots and snowshoes.
From next winter the brand-new biathlon training centre in Kasern will be
open where professionals carry out their training at high altitude (between
1550 and 1700 m.a.s.l.).
